PROJECTS

Community Wildfire Protection Plans
Led the full development of the Madison County, Montana Community Wildfire Protection Plan, integrating advanced wildfire risk modeling, GIS analysis, and stakeholder engagement into a comprehensive, actionable strategy. The plan was delivered through an interactive ArcGIS StoryMap, improving accessibility, transparency, and public understanding of wildfire risk and mitigation priorities.
Also served as a technical advisor for the Ashland, Oregon CWPP, providing subject matter expertise in wildfire modeling, risk assessment, and mitigation strategy to support plan development in a complex WUI environment.

Prescribed Fire Planning & Implementation – Ted Turner Ranches
Led the development and implementation of prescribed fire programs across Turner Ranches, reintroducing fire to fire-adapted ecosystems to reduce fuels and improve landscape resilience. Responsibilities included burn planning, operational coordination, and implementation of prescribed fire treatments aligned with ecological and risk reduction objectives.

Tabletop Exercises - Storymap
Developed and facilitated a comprehensive wildfire tabletop exercise for the Big Sky Fire Department, integrating advanced fire behavior modeling with real-time decision-making. The exercise challenged participants to evaluate fire progression, implement mass notification strategies, develop management action plans, conduct structure triage, and make time-sensitive evacuation decisions.
Designed to reflect realistic conditions in a complex wildland–urban interface environment, the exercise strengthened coordination, sharpened strategic thinking, and reinforced operational decision-making under pressure.

Wildfire SME Services
Provide wildfire expertise to support research, product development, and national-level guidance on wildfire risk and mitigation. Contributed to the SFPE WUI Handbook and partnered with organizations including Owens Corning, IBHS, and Headwaters Economics to advance wildfire resilience, building performance, and community risk reduction strategies.

Geospatial Analysis & Wildfire Modeling
Provide advanced geospatial analysis and wildfire modeling services to support risk assessment, mitigation planning, and decision-making. Work includes development of the Madison County, Montana Community Wildfire Protection Plan, integrating GIS, fire behavior modeling, and data visualization through an interactive ArcGIS StoryMap.
In addition to project work, our consultants deliver high-level training in wildfire modeling and geospatial tools, helping agencies and organizations better understand and apply these systems in real-world environments.

Wildfire Detection & Early Warning Systems - Wildfire Technology
Led the evaluation and implementation of AI-enabled wildfire detection systems to enhance early fire identification and situational awareness in a complex wildland–urban interface environment. Work included system selection, deployment strategy, and integration into operational workflows to support faster detection, improved response times, and more informed decision-making.
